Draw for the Regional Finals

The 2008/09 Finals draw took place on January 27th at Fulham FC, and as this was such an important occasion, the FA very kindly supplied us with the official FA Cup balls and bag to use in the draw. Of course, the draw would not be complete without some very special guests so we invited George Cohen, (England 1966 World Cup Winner and Fulham FC legend) and Ed Balls, (Secretary of State, Department for Children, Schools and Families) to do the honours. Also in attendance at Fulham's Craven Cottage were John Read (Chief Executive of ESFA), Mike Spinks (ESFA National Competitions Manager) and Erika Coghlan (Vice President of CCE - Corporate Affairs).

Most importantly of all, two of the teams who make the MMSC cup so exciting were also there to witness the proceedings: The Queens U13's Boys School Team and Shenfield U13's Girls Team. Garry Sapsford, the Shenfield Girls coach was feeling confident after their away draw against Fortismere: "We've had four good away wins on our cup run with the pick of the games against Royal Liberty, last year's National runners-up, the girls are really looking forward to their next game." As a treat for their hard work and dedication, both teams received a tour of Craven Cottage, complete with a sneak preview of the players' changing rooms. We hope a great day was had by all.

The venues and dates of the next cup games will be announced shortly.
